About the Author
I'm 'Big John' Gallant, and I like to hike. I'm a single guy in my late 40's and I'm not a bum, honest! I'm a consultant, specifically a web coding specialist. I make my own schedule, and now that schedule includes long, strenuous outdoor trips and local day hiking too. Hey, sitting around all day typing makes a guy fat, gotta do something to cut the flab off!
I started backpacking in August of 2006, inspired by my brother Mike and his High Sierra trips. He's also responsible for encouraging my web coding career and making it all possible. Thanks Mike! :-)
